Rookie Team led by Veteran Players!
A Look Back at 2019:
Dothrakis are a rookie team making their debut in 2020 season. They do however have some names you will recognize.
The captains are brothers Sunny Naveed and Hashim Naveed. Sunny made his debut with the Bengals last year. Hashim needs no introduction as he is a SASL Hall of Famer with 4 rings under his belt. He just won the 2019 AL championship with the Savages.
A Look Ahead at 2020:
With the 1 division and low cap, Savages were finally forced to split up in 2020. Hashim and Sunny declared their intention to create their own team early on and as far as we can tell, they have done a fantastic job of it. Hashim is a shrewd manager of rosters as he has constructed teams since early 2010’s and the pool of players he can dip his toes into is immense.
The outfield consists of a couple of rookies we have heard rave reviews about. Pablo Sanchez and Andy Sanchez are already being rumored to be Rookie of the Year type players. They also signed David Rodriguez for the outfield and if he can stay poised, that is a huge addition.
Infield will be led by Hashim. Pavy Badwal who was a former MVP candidate and has made it to multiple straight All Star games will be anchoring the lineup. They also have solid and versatile veterans in Pervez, Gage, Michael Wang. On the mound, they have the steady Freddy Maldonado but he has yet to be tested in big games.
The lineup looks absolutely deadly at the top with Hashim, Pavy, David, Pervez and the Sanchez brothers. This is a lineup that will score in a hurry and will not let up. Speed and Power are in abundance.
Our Prediction:
Any team that has Hashim on their roster, is a favorite to end up in the finals. Want to hear a startling fact? He has made it to the last 6 Finals and won 4 of them. The last time his team did not make it to the championship round was in 2013. We would put money on them finishing as a top 3 seed and making it to the championship round.
Best Players:
The two obvious players are Hashim and Pavy. Expect them to reach another All Star game and pad their resumes. Their third best player as of now is David Rodriguez as we haven’t seen the rookies play yet in an official game. David can play an excellent LCF and is a great lead off hitter with speed.
Players To Watch For:
The obvious two are Pablo Sanchez and Andy Sanchez. Pervez Khan also is another underrated player who is invaluable to a team due to his ability to play every position on the field. He has made multiple all star games and we expect him to have another season where he goes unnoticed.
Hear It From The Captain: Sunny Naveed
1. What do you enjoy most about your role as team captain?
—Building a team from scratch on paper and seeing the output of those ideas culminate on the field has been most rewarding.
2. Who do you think will be your toughest competition this season?
—I have heard there are many good teams this year (e.g., Dynasty, North, Shooters and others). I would consider all of those teams as tough competition.
3. What do you think are your team’s strong points? Weak points?
—Our strengths are that we are very determined and organized as a team with a strong nucleus of talent. We try to run the team in a professional and objective way. Everyone has a clearly defined role.
Our weakness is that we are a new team. Mental IQ will be a test for us.
4. How do you see your teams season play out this season?
—Hopefully, we make the playoffs. Most important is that we have fun in the process and develop as a team.
