The Buzz: Week 1

7 sweeps, 1 split. See what’s buzzing after one week.

With one week in the books, there is a lot of buzz in the league.  One week on the job and Anwar is already dealing with drama.

American League

Met’s – Week 1 and playing short, and having registration problems – blaming everyone but themselves for not being able to enter in their email address and contact info. When Empire can enter in 274 guys how can they not enter in enough?  Lost a big opportunity by getting swept by the Ducks.

Mighty Ducks – started off really strong. Saad loved to hate the Softballers but now that he has added some orange blood into his team. Could this be the year that they finally get over the hump?

Outlaws – They’re baaaack. Made a huge statement taking out Scooby. Don’t sleep on Scooby Scorers they have massive firepower and the Outlaws smack them around like that means something to the league.  Nice mix of old new Outlaws. This team looks like they are going to be special.

Scooby Scorers – one week and already blaming the committee and ratings, and the league and the universe.  Truth is that no one else was on the field but them. They have a great team on paper, but paper and reality can be 2 different things.

Troopers – took one in the gut week one. This was a scary beat down. Can they get things together or was this a sign of things to come

Empire – the team that is flying under the radar. How? Look at the talent that this team has and who they have added.  Talk about making full use of the cap, this team has actually enough players for 2 teams.  How do they keep all of those players happy?  It’s time that people gave Prince and Faizal credit for what they have built

Savages – juggling the responsibility of 240 players and 16 teams versus your own 15 players is an enormous responsibility. It looked like Anwar and the Savages were caught with their pants down.  Team 516 did to them what they did to the league last year

516 – If week 1 was any indicator we will be adding 631,646,917,212, and 718 to this team name.  They looked dominant.  Who wants to face Denen with runners on base? The guy who can hit with that much power and led the league in hitting last year now has protection on the team?  Early favorites

National League

Purple Reign – Let’s go crazy! For this team, they have some of the best team chemistry mixing in vets with some young rookies. Ahmad Halimi carried this team blasting shots and arguably being the best player on the field and willed that team to a win

Dynasty – for a team that has been so successful in the last few years, they have been too quiet. Then to go in there week 1 and just struggle to get organized is not like this team.  They have been so close to often you would think that they would be hungrier than ever

NWO – the story of the National League – beating up on the fundamentally sound Breaking Bats. Asim and company have had practices prior to the season and it with some vet additions like Prince they may have put it all together

Ones – this team contains the player most likely to be recruited most heavily this season in Amby. Has anyone seen what he did in his Spring debut?  Those that saw him in his limited action in the fall talked about him. In a few more weeks everyone will know about him. Naeem and company dispatched of StrikeForce

StrikeForce – this team was in the games but couldn’t get over the hump. Don’t worry as reinforcements are on the way based on all of the registrations that have come on the last day.
