Enough Venom To Matter?
A Look Back At 2019:
Black Mambas are a “Rookie” team that has resulted from a merger between Strike Force and NWO. Both teams had identical records of 5-17, which was nothing to write home about. Having said that, Strike Force and NWO always took the field with determination and focus.
One of the most glaring issues with NWO was the lack of consistent attendance by their better players, the top three in slugging on the team missed more than half the games, as well as losing those same players on defense. On paper NWO was a playoff team, they made it to SNL but again started the game with nine players.
Strike Force had problems with inconsistencies all season. Sometimes they looked like a good team but most times it was a matter of “what if”. If, and we can say if with all teams here, but if Strike Force had consistently good bats game in and game out they would have gone farther in the playoffs.
A Look Ahead At 2020:
The teams have not only merged but overhauled. Azhar Naqvi and Ayaz Dar a.k.a. daddy dar, a.k.a. big little man, are the two captains and are always doing recruiting. Bringing in three new guests and a new SA rookie. The top 12 players on the team total points puts them at around 45, with solid defenders.
According to the captains, the numbers dont matter. Black Mambas have put a lot of faith in the new players to the league. Let’s see if it is misplaced or not.
Their pitching is another story; Ayaz, Adnaan, and new comer Franklin can all pitch with consistency, keeping blind umpires seperate. They all have different ways of pitching, which will be an advantage because of the shortened season.
Our Prediction:
Joking aside, Black Mambas land at 8-14, which is generous as we have no idea how these four new players will impact the team. They should make the playoffs, but hindsight being 20/20, they will lose in 3 games to whomever they play, IF they advance from SNL play.
Best Players:
Peter is the highest ranking returning player with a rating of 5. Historically great pull hitter with some decent pop and a solid defender.
Players To Watch For:
New comers Franklin, Jesse, Nukie, and Martin. These are unknown entities like when an 8 year old shows up at your door and says “Hi dad”, you dont take the kid at his word, first thing in your head is DNA test AHORA.
Hear It From The Captain: Azhar Naqvi
1. What do you enjoy most about your role as team captain?
—I love that Captains have to chase guys for fees, that’s definitely my favorite thing… Not! Another cool thing is, people assume you know what your talking about when your a Captain lol. I dont know if you can enjoy being a Captain, BUT I like the fact I’m in a position to unite, strengthen, and improve my teammates and team.
2. Who do you think will be your toughest competition this season?
—Ourselves mostly…Joking. No disrespect to the other teams in the league, but since I HAVE to choose I will stick to the teams I know. I expect Dynasty (Saj+Yamin), Hit Squad (Ammad+Soly) and the North (Anwar) to be tough. These teams always play well together, and find good talent. Plus they know how to find loop holes in the point system lol.
3. What do you think are your team’s strong points? Weak points?
—Our weakness would be we are a new team, so we’ll need some time to gel. Our strength is we got players who play hard, and play smart… We have lots of talent and potential. We probably have the oldest team in the league also. To me that means we have the hungriest, and smartest squad in the league.
4. How do you see your teams season play out this season?
—We been practicing safe distancing, now we get to practice hitting for long distances lol. I see us competing every week and making a run for the playoffs. I see my team coming to play every week, every inning, every at bat. Wishing the league lots of health.
