National League’s Darkhorse? Dynasty Team Preview

Potential NL MVP and ROY candidates on board on a STACKED Dynasty squad.

Bridesmaids, but never the bride.

The 2018 season of Dynasty was more of the same. Good team, but not good enough. The team was loaded with potential, but fell short. Their old buddies Hit Squad once again vanquished them in the semifinals and did so rather easily. At one point, the leadership must realize, the answer is not to have a revolving door in your clubhouse. Feels like every year, they recruit very well, but fall short right at the end.

This 2019 season, the core of Sajid, Gaurav, Yamin, Amit, come into the season extra salty after a brutal 3 game defeat in the fall championship game. Their Fall team included some excellent talent that was not part of their normal roster, and Sajid did a wonderful job securing them for the upcoming 2019 season.

Additions

You don’t know who Michael Liang is? You will know shortly. Ripping the covers of the ball in Fall Ball, and matching it with some of the best Outfield defense we saw in Fall Ball. He is a potential Rookie of the Year for the Spring/Summer season. Next, they secured 2018 All Star Omar Hernandez who should now be fully healthy from his leg problems and poised for his best season yet. Not only did Dynasty secure this versatile players services, the kicker is the fact that they got him from The Ones, one of their bigger competitions.Their biggest addition maybe Jojo Rodriguez, who left the Scorers, and now some are touting him as a dark-horse MVP candidate due to his 5 tool abilities. Jojo will probably bat 3rd in the lineup and man one of the centerfield spots. To round out their roster they picked of Milan Patel from NWO and bringing in a new NSA in Adrian, as well as someone named Jerry Liang. If Jerry is anything like Mike…… Gone are a bunch of players from their deep roster of last year, including Ray, Gage, Tariq, Ariel, Jason, etc.

Overall

Lineup of Omar, Mike, Jojo, Yamin, etc is scary. Defense in the Outfield should be elite as well. Infield defense, we will see. How often will Amit show up to play? One of the key questions. The issue at the end of the season will be, can they overcome the mental hurdle to finally win it all. They have the talent and the skills. Do they have the will and clutch gene?

Offseason Grade: B+

They have surely improved in both sides of the ball. However, they are playing with a team that is very top heavy and if any of the key guys is missing any given weak, that leaves a gaping hole in the lineup/defense. Attendance will be a huge factor and not spreading the points to get a deeper team is something that may haunt them.

Prediction

They will finish as a top 3 seed in the NL Division. If this was purely based on paper, we like them to be in the Finals. But, games are not played on paper.
