Sup people you know who I am, if not you know my name! Denen aka piss missiles aka watch ya chest. I’m 33, 2 kids about to have another one so 3 .. Work for the county just saying! Haha. So for 3 accomplishments of my sasl career, have not met the only 1 and that’s to win the ship..
— You have played for a number of teams and a number of years in the league. What separates this league from others you play in?
Well before first couple of years the website stats, power rankings and all, thought it was so dope ! Last year and now this year, the league went down hill. Remember, I’m gonna tell it like it is. Other leagues you have grown men pitch to you, want you to hit unless the game on the line ! “Not tucked tails” …. Drink beers in open containers, no problem. It’s rec softball. We there to have fun, drink a few, get away .. masks up to you? Jerseys shouldn’t matter! Player rating system? What is that ? Wanna stacked team-go ahead! Too many rules kills the fun ! Pay us and it’s a different story.
— In the SASL World Cup you played for Team West Indies. Where are you from exactly? How does heritage play a role in the person you are?
Just like everyone else in this league, I am a mutt. I have some Guyanese in me (pops), some Sicilian in me(moms) and not to mention; people always confuse me for Spanish which I have none of plain and simple.
— You were on the Scorers last year. Who many felt were a top 2 team. Do you regret playing with an ineligible player which removed Scorers from playoffs? How did the decision to play with Ralphie happen?
As is in any league, I show up to hit, drink, and win. I don’t have time for politics and who’s on the team and who isn’t. Ask the GM or Captain. Long story short: Ayaz a snitch and that’s all she wrote!
— Do you feel the punishment fit the crime? If no, what do you think would have been a fair punishment?
It is what it is!
— You have been part of two teams that played with ineligible players (PSR, Scorers). Both lost chance to compete in playoffs. Do you regret you and your teams actions? What are the lessons learned.
PSR, I honestly don’t remember. Listen, I come to play ball, and that’s all. The question you ask is not for me. I’m a player, and not the manager or such!
— How did 516 form? Why did you guys split from Scorers?
Where Cuzzo(Sanjay) goes I go. As for the split ask Sanjay and Scooby. I come to play that’s all!
— This may be Sanjay’s last SASL season with 516 with him potentially moving out of state. What does the future of 516 hold without him as the GM of the team?
Honestly, who knows. Might be mine as well. Too much whining and complaining in this league! Too many rules….not fun sorry, but it’s the truth.
— 516 are 3-1 against the champion Savages. But just 7-9 against rest of the league. Why the inconsistency? You guys have averaged 15+ runs against Savages but been held to below 10 runs in a lot of your other games. What accounts for this?
Easy, we think too much and too many hiccups as a team. Don’t play team ball as well, we try to do too much and stupid mistakes!
— Currently you guys are holding the 5th and final playoff seed and slated to be in the Saturday Night Lights 1 game playoffs. How are you approaching the rest of the year?
Just Play Ball !!
— You were the All Star Game MVP. How did you enjoy the Home run derby, BBQ and the All Star game?
It was like 500 degrees out! Good times though and the food was great. The Home Run Derby….agh…that’s all Dan. 3 mins sheesh, he’s built for that. Me? Give me 10 pitches or swings and then simple! … tip my hat off to him though. No one will beat him in the derby! All star game had a great team and fun times. As for MVP, I just want to win I don’t care as long as I do my job- HIT -coughs @Hash love you bro and play Defense !
— Earlier this season, in your game against Mets you were walked something like 7 out of 8 times. That isn’t against the rules. Why did it make you so mad? What changes would you like to see from SASL to avoid this?
Well first off, this is supposedly an all mens league. Lately and especially this year, questioning that beyond! 1st at bat, at least throw deep or high but no where near. Come on, it’s pathetic . Told pink dress Aly, meant Ali, just put me on then, waste time being scared to pitch to me and that’s exactly what he did. Part of the game is correct but I come to play. Playoffs, close game, smart and I understand. Up 13 runs in a reg season, with no one on base? Went up lefty, went up with a weighted bat bar-like come on let’s be real. This caca is not that serious. We don’t get paid, we come to have fun and play and hit well (at least some of us)! Honestly, in the reg season to avoid this; you intentionally walk someone like what happens to me or Dan or whoever else -why not put us on second? It’s boring. We are human, and we are not perfect. Why not pitch?…. ohh yea funny guys with that video too. Grown men much?
— Which 2 teams are going to the Finals? Who’s winning the SASL MVP? Did you feel like you should have won last years MVP?
Listen, 516 just plays we should be in that finals. So I will say us of course, as well as Savages – as long as Anwar don’t pitch cookies ! For the MVP this year, I honestly don’t care lol. After last year, it’s a joke. How you ask captains who they choose , when stats speak for itself!
