2018 Under the Radar
In a league filled with unbelievable people and talent, this section is dedicated to the guys that show up every week, give maximum effort, and fly under the radar. Once again our week 2 candidate is the epitome of this. Dheeraj Ramchandani or D-Raj of empire is a player that has grown over his career in the SASL and teams should finally start giving him the respect he deserves. I have always watched D-Raj over the years but never took the time to really watch him and see how good he is. He has made the Allstar team, yet when you speak about Empire you think Chris, Peter, and Jason. D-Raj is one of the fastest guys on the bases, a terrific outfielder, and with the improvement to his bat has become a terrific leadoff hitter. He will be a big part of trying to help empire get over the hump this year and win a championship.
Questions and Answers To D-Raj from Empire.
Question 1 – D-Raj how long have you been playing in SASL?
Answer – This is my fourth year in the league.
Question 2 – Seeing that you just finished your second game, how did you feel it went?
Answer – Feeling pretty good, we started off a little slow, but were able to get our hitting going for the second game and turned the day around.
Question 3 – What are your expectations for the 2018 Season?
Answer – CHAMPIONSHIP, CHAMPIONSHIP!! EASY QUESTION 😊 Sorry Savages your run is over!!
Question 4 – I’ve played with you in SAFL and know your speed but where has that power come from?
Answer – The power comes from being in the gym in the offseason and putting a little weight on.
Question 5 – What was your opinion of the competition four games into the season?
Answer – I think the competition is great and I look forward to a great season, there are a lot of good teams out there.
Question 6 – Thank you for your time D-Raj, in closing what message do you have for the league?
Answer – CHAMPIONSHIP WATCH OUT, EMPIRE TAKING IT!!!!
Reaction – D-Raj was impressive because going into the game we knew he was fast, but didn’t know about his power. After the game, we were like wow that guy can hit. If Empire is going to win a championship in 2018, D-Raj will be the man at the top constantly on base and causing havoc. He and Shawn in the outfield might be the best 1-2 punch in the league.
