Strike Force Vs Hit Squad
Right now you’re asking yourself why would this match-up is being considered the game of the week as opposed to the game most likely to end in mercy of the week.
Well, it’s for the obvious reasons. The overachieving SASL champions from 2 years ago bring back a lot of the same familiar faces from that winning team two years ago including their MVP pitcher Wahid. The SASL’s own version of Klayton Kershaw, Wahid will use the many of his infamous 11 pitches (Four-seam, Two-seam, Cutter, Splitter, and Forkball, Curveball, Slider, Slurve, and Screwball, Changeup, Palmball, Circle Changeup) to keep the Strike Force hitters off balance and go for the first ever perfect game in SASL history. He comes off an outing where he limited the returning Bengals to only 3 runs. In addition, he has one of the leagues best defenses and essentially a div 1 team playing behind him.
Strike Force players have become accustomed to to playing in the SASL as underdogs, and they are playing for respect. They have made some key off-season additions at SS and outfield. They had a rough game one managing only 5 runs against a mediocre pitcher but hope to build off an impressive game 2 where they score 17 runs off of another one of SASL’s greatest pitchers, Nader of the Ones (who the SASL would like to welcome back as healthy and pitching once again). Still, Strike Force has a lot of work to be done on the defensive side of the ball. Cutting down on errors and making the routine play will help this team go along way.
