Pick ‘Em: Experts Analyze Week 11 Matchups

  • Avatar

LAST WEEKS PREDICTIONS: The experts had their best week of the season this past week by getting 5 of 6 predictions spot on. Only miss was expecting a split between Dothrakis and The North.

YEAR TO DATE TALLY: 28 out of 47 right (60% success rate).

Matchup: Black Mambas (7-11) vs The North(14-4)

Field: Mitchell 1 @ 8:30am

No matter the results of this game, Mambas are making it into the playoffs, whether they make it outright or fight in SNL. They split last week against Troopers, another showcasing of weak defense. Although it was a very windy day, this is a recurring theme. They need to tighten up as playoffs approach if they want any shot at competing. Led by Sugar, Dan and Pete, they all need it keep up production if they want the offense to stay alive. The North on the other hand got sweep at the hands of Dothraki’s in quick fashion. The North’s #1 offense only put up 11 runs in the 2 games. With the loss they lose the #1 spot they have claimed all season long. This week they vs a weaker team in Mamba’s which should build up confidence leading up to playoffs. Still clearly led by potential MVP Charley, he needs the rest of his team to step it up.

Predictions: Sweep! The North are too talented to lose in 2 straight weeks. They will be hungry to avenge their loss last week and put a beating on the Mamba’s. Mamba’s don’t give up the fight so if they catch The North sleeping, they can easily take 1

Matchup: Dynasty (14-4) vs Shooter McGavins(9-9)

Field: Mitchell 2 @ 8:30am

Dynasty took care of Dad Bods last week although game 2 was a tight game with Dynasty winning 26-18. For a team with elite defense, that’s entirely too many runs to give up to Dad Bods for a potential contender. Yamincontinued his MVP campaign going 7/8 in the 2 games. He has been the clear leader for this team along with Omar and Mike Liang. Currently they are tied for #2 with The North with both teams having potential to move up. Let’s see how they fair against a hot Shooters team. Going back to Troopers on August 23rd, they have lost only one game to Hit Squad since then. Looking dangerous for playoff time, seems like they were coasting like Kawhi. No clear leader on the team but everyone chips in when it is needed. Shooters seem to be out of SNL but if this week does not go right for them, they could play the Mamba’s in SNL. Look out for TK stepping it up in the next couple weeks.

Predictions: Split! Both teams seem like contenders as of now so no easy matchup for either side. Dynasty has the veteran spark on the team while Shooters have been red hot for over a month now. This will be a defensive matchup more than anything

Matchup: Dothraki’s (15-3) vs The Ones (10-8)

Field: Eisenhower D @ 8:30am

Dothraki’s swept The North last week in 2 dominating games. Putting up 36 runs against a team that really improved their defense too is not a good sign for The Ones. Dothraki’s have a suffocating defense as well only allowing 11 runs. They shut down the #1 offense and look for them to repeat against The Ones arguably #1 or #2 offense. They secured the #1 spot for the first time this season, don’t expect them to give it up yet. Led by Hashim and Andy Sanchez who is going to win ROY. The Ones on the other hand are a high-powered offense with poor defense which will be exploited this week. They scored 5 and 18 runs respectively against MonStars. When the offense is clicking, they can take on anyone but when its not on, they don’t seem to be to true contenders. Currently in 4th place, it does not seem likely they will find themselves playing under SNL. Led by Denen and Yoba who is the current MVP favorite. As long as those 2 are playing, they have a shot.

Predictions: Sweep! Dothraki’s have been the clear #1 team in the past few weeks and they will take advantage of a poor defensive team. The Ones need to match the Dothraki’s firepower and not score 5 runs like it’s the MonStars

Matchup: Hit Squad (10-8) vs TSFE (9-9)

Field: Seamens Neck 4 dirt @ 8:30am

Hit Squad comes off a split with Shooters. They split but Hit Squad only put up 5 runs total. Hit Squad has been looking off now, do they still have enough left in the tank to make a push for finals. Like The Ones, they should be able to avoid SNL but if things don’t go there way then there is a possibility. Halimi was supposed to have been the leader of this team but injuries have derailed that. Ramy who joined in the offseason has been having a lackluster year so far batting just over .500. Injuries have really killed the team so far, hopefully everyone is healthy come playoff time. TSFE did not play last week due to Sliders forfeiting so they could come out a bit rusty. There last matchup was a split with Mamba’s which was Saad’s infamous game. As it currently stands one way or another they are going to playoffs. Mostly likely looking at SNL.

Predictions: Split! Hit Squad might not be full strength, the injury report has not come out yet. If they are full strength this could go a different way but as it stands TSFE has a shot at an injured Hit Squad.

Matchup: MonStars (9-9) vs Dad Bods (2-16)

Field: Baldwin Blue @ 11am

MonStars are coming off a split with The Ones. They have been an average team all year so far 9-9. They are a good defensive team with slightly worse bats. As it stands, they should avoid SNL all together especially with their matchup this week. Vinny who is the current #2 rookie is leading the team on both sides of the field. Faizan has turned back the clocks this year, leading to the end of the year batting over .600. Kunal Sra needs to pick it up come playoff time as he has been struggling so far. The vs a weak Dad Bods team that almost beat Dynasty in game 2. They got sweep but scored a ton of runs. Offensively they are not the worst but what really hurts is the defense of the team. Once that improves, watch out for this team with their deadly chemistry.

Predictions: Sweep! MonStars are too talented to drop a game to Dad Bods, especially with what’s on the line. 2 wins here and they look to avoid SNL completely.

Matchup: Backdoor Sliders (1-15) vs Troopers(8-12)

Field: Seamens Neck 4 @11am

Sliders had to forfeit last week due to not having enough active guys. Who knows what happens this week? Will they have enough?? A disappointing season for the team although they did join last second so expectations were not all that high. Sami the leader of the team is out for the year as well which is a huge loss for the Sliders. They face a Troopers team that has passed all expectations. Although they are most probably locked into SNL, it is a major setup from the teams in the past. They split with Mamba’s last week on the same field. If they can repeat game 2 from Mamba’s this should be an easy week for them. Defense is not the issue for this team, offense has been the problem all year. If they can somehow become consistent in the last 2 weeks leading to playoffs, they can be a dangerous matchup.

Predictions: Sweep! Troopers need the wins as a confidence booster leading into SNL. This is the perfect opportunity for them to get on track. Sliders can completely just come out with a full team to compete.
