League’s Scariest Team Moves to #1: AL Power Rankings (Week 3)

A new #1 in the National League

American League Power Rankings

1. 516

Having 516 at the top with the Mighty Ducks unbeaten is surely to be controversial. But past two weeks they have not had their full squad with Captain Sanjay, as well as MVP caliber players Denen and Rafael missing among others. Steve Quock is our early pick for Rookie of the Year.

2. Mighty Ducks

4-0 start. Lots of different factors for their early awesome start. Sid has pitched extremely well and their defense has backed him up as the team has given up about 6.5 runs per game. The former Ballers are all hitting well. The return of Bonett has solidified a very good OF. Saad, Bonett, Haaris and Sajeel. Wow. And Matt Z. and Shane M. will be household names soon enough.

3. Savages

The defending champs after being embarrassed in week 1, took out their anger on the Outlaws with two convincing wins. Surprising starter at pitcher with Aasheesh holding down a dangerous Outlaws lineup, we can fully declare the Savages as contenders once again. Dex looks like a true MVP contender and once the trio of Hashim, Charley and Pavy gets going this team will be even more dangerous.

4. Empire

Empire falls from number 1 in Power Rankings in week 1 to number 4 after being swept by The Ducks. Game 2 was a shocker as they led comfortably in the early parts of the game. Empire at 3-3 can’t afford to fall much further back with only 4 teams advancing to playoffs with Mets, Scorers and Outlaws right on their heels. New addition Shawn has been as advertised. However, batting 12 guys and having a roster of 20 is actually hurting against top competition.

5. Outlaws

3-1 start gave away to a .500 record after they met those Savages. Captain Saiful is doing all he can to lead the team. But it is hard to win when half your roster plays in the NL earlier that day and comes tired for Outlaws games. Top level players like Majid, and Ahmad are needed at peak level for this team to be in the top 4. Louis has the look of a ROY candidate. A team with Saiful, Greg, Louis, Majid, Ahmad, Ramin should not be on the outside looking in.

6. Scorers

2-2 record. After a deflating week 1 sweep against Outlaws, Scorers pulled even with a sweep of Troopers. This teams offseason additions have not panned out except for Dan. Once Kevin is back later in the season, that will give a much needed boost to their lineup.

7. Mets

2-4 record. 2 wins came against 516 and Empire, proving these Mets  can play with anyone in any given Sunday. What they are lacking is athleticism on the base paths and the field. Ramy and Kunal are still reliable but the talent surrounding them are either old, not performing or broken down. Can John, Masoom, Harp etc capture some of that past magic and turn this team around?

8. Troopers

0-4 start is the worst in their franchise history. What has gone wrong? Well a lot. Week 1 was a demolition with their defense couldn’t stop a nosebleed. Week 2, Scorers swept them in two games where Troopers scored 13 runs in 2 games. It’s going to take their A game from here on out and hope other teams bring their B game in order for Troopers to climb back into contention.
