Hall of Heroes

The SASL is not just a league it is a family. Over the years we have had close to 1,200 players come and put on the SASL jersey.  We are competitors on the field but brothers off of the field.  We wanted to take the time to recognize our brothers that are no longer with us.

Pawan Motwani – Titans

Pawan was one of the fiercest competitors the league has ever seen. His teams were perennial contenders and Pawan was in the middle pitching them to victory. Pawan’s teammates won a championship in 2014  as the Spartans when they beat the Desert Eagles.  All season they hung a jersey of Pawan while playing.  Pawan was named the 2014 Finals MVP.

Rafiq Hatami – Outlaws

Rafiq was one of the original Outlaws and won a championship in the second year of the league where he teamed up with his brothers Ahman and Zia to make a deadly trio.  Rafiq played before the league became the formal League that it is today. But, the contributions that players like Rafiq made earlier on is what has helped make the league what it is today.

Adeel Qureshi – Mustangs, Wolfpack, Pitch Slap

AQ, as he was affectionately called, was a lefty first baseman for the Mustangs and Wolfpack.  He later became the captain on team Pitch Slap.  Adeel was widely recognized as one of the nicest and funniest players in the league.

Ammar Yousaf – Wolfpack

Ammar was one of the fiercest competitors and most loyal teammates.  You never knew what Ammar was going to look like when he showed up for the season. Whether, it was a Rollie Fingers mustache or shoulder-length hair, or a do-rag. Every year was a new surprise with his new look.

Shayan Akbar – Wolfpack

Shayan played with the Wolfpack for one season and was fastly becoming an integral part of the team.
