DYNASTY (4-0) |
They remain at number 1, after sweeping an emerging Troopers team. They have by far the best defensive metrics in the league. The defense makes sure that the opposing teams earn every single run. Week 3 is sort of a trap matchup with a very fast improving Black Mambas. |
2. |
DOTHRAKIS (4-0) |
Last week we said their matchup against Shooter McGavins was their first true test. Well the results are back and they came up aces. After two convincing mercy wins, Dothrakis are flying high into another tough matchup in TSFE. Will they leapfrog Dynasty in next weeks rankings? |
3. |
THE NORTH (4-0) |
The North moves up one spot after a thrashing of Backdoor Sliders. While they have the best offense in the league, the concern remains the defense. The two teams above them have given up 14 and 16 runs respectively, while The North has given up 61. What’s the old saying? Defense wins Championships. |
4. |
THE ONES (2-2) |
We are moving the Ones up after an impressive sweep over DadBods. When they get it clicking they will be hard to beat. Their pitching came around in Week 2, and that will be the key rest of season. The Offense will score runs in bunches. This week they have a 0-4 opponent in Shooter McGavins, but these are the same team that ousted The Ones last year in the playoffs. Revenge anyone? |
5. |
MONSTARS (3-1) |
MonStars split with TSFE in week 2. The team continues to go under the radar. Just exactly what they want. But if they keep this up, they will be a force to reckon with. Their run differential thru 2 weeks is only +7. Two ways to look at it: either they are getting lucky or showing grit to win the close games. Very interesting matchup with Troopers this week. |
6. |
TSFE (1-3) |
Disastrous week 1. A much better week 2. While they split with MonStars, their offense looked 100x better. They are still a -29 in run differential thru 4 games. A far cry from last year where they had a historic run differential on their way to a 22-2 team. They have more losses this year than all last regular season. |
7. |
TROOPERS (2-2) |
They really should be 3-1. But they lost a heartbreaker to Dynasty in game 1 this past weekend. They continue to shore up their depth by picking up Atif Tatari. The Troopers still boast an excellent defense so more wins will be ahead. This week they have another prime opportunity to pick up pace by sweeping MonStars who are directly ahead of them in the standings. |
8. |
HIT SQUAD (2-2) |
They made it close, but Hit Squad were able to get their first two wins of the season. No surprise Ahmad Halimi was named player of the Week for Hit Squad as his returned infused this team with some energy. They have another easy matchup this week with Backdoor Sliders on deck. |
9. |
BLACK MAMBAS (2-2) |
Yes, they got swept this past weekend. But the team earned a hell lot of respect around the league. No longer a pushover. The team is playing well and they are playing together. Their run differential for the season is a +2. They have been in every game they played in and with a .500 record, they are right in the thick of things. Well done Azhar and Ayaz! |
10. |
SHOOTER MCGAVINS (0-4) |
What a fall from grace for the once proud franchise Shooter McGavins so far. They came in with very high expectations and championship aspirations. The season is still very, very young. Right now they need to tread water until they get their confidence and swag back. Unfortunately, up next is The Ones, and they have their work cut out for them. |
11. |
DADBODS (0-4) |
Same story as week 1. They got mercied in game 1 by The Ones. And Game 2, they kept it very close and only lost by 2 runs. They have only scored 18 runs in 4 games this far. They are getting runners on base but they just aren’t getting the clutch hits. This week they face another tough team in The North. Maybe third time is the charm? |
12. |
BACKDOOR SLIDERS |
They have the worst run differential in the league at -40 thru 4 games. Losing by an average of 10 runs a game is a tough pill to swallow. Surprisingly their offense ranks 7th in the league. Their defense is their Achilles heal and something they need to shore up quickly before the season gets away from them. |
