1. Breaking Bats (15-5) ↑ 1
Winners of their last 6 all coming via mercy wins. They seem to be heating up going into the second half. Zimmad and Nabeel seem to be having career years along with the solid production from the rest of their starters. They have the best-run differential by a wide margin, and it’ll be hard to find a top 10 better than the Bats best. Purple Reign come next, tough matchup against a team they squeaked by in their first meeting.
2. Dynasty (13-7) ↑ 1
NLs hottest team comes away with another 3 wins. They easily took care of NWO and were riding an 8 game win streak, until losing to Hit Squad in game 2 of their make up. They have cemented themselves in the top 3 and statistically, have the best defense. Saj and co have done a great job to make up for the slow start. They have The One’s next and must sweep if they want a shot at 1st seed as they end their season against Hit Squad and Breaking Bats.
3. Hit Squad (14-6) ↓ 2
2-2 in last 4 games and you drop 2 spots in the power rankings. Losing to a One’s team that only had 9 guys isn’t pretty. Getting mercied by Dynasty in game one of makeup also isn’t quality ball. They have had some close games against below .500 teams, something to look out for in the coming weeks. A good way to turn things around and get back to first place as they face NWO this week.
4. Purple Reign (10-10) ↑ 1
A forfeit loss again??? They have 2 forfeit losses to the bottom 2 teams in the division. They needed those wins to stay close to Dynasty for 3rd place, but you can’t win if you don’t show up. Fortunately for them The One’s and Bengals also struggled these past 2 weeks. Those 2 losses could have cost them a chance to get out of SNL and now will have little margin for error if they want to keep Bengals and Ones behind them. Breaking Bats up next, they can’t afford another forfeit because it won’t be easy to beat them in game 2.
5. One’s (8-12) ↑ 1
After that hot streak they ran into Breaking Bats and got smashed. Then went in and split with 1st seed Hit Squad with only 9. Now have a match up with a hot Dynasty. A tough 3 weeks. They have some of the most lethal hitters in the league, but need their defense to match. They need a split this week to stay in striking distance as they end their season against Purple Reign and Bengals. Their final 2 weeks will determine a playoff spot or not.
6. Bengals (9-11) ↓ 2
Losers of 6 in a row, their hot streak has coming crashing to a halt. They are going to need better production out of some of their regulars who are struggling if they want to compete. Rumor has it Faisal is no longer playing with the team due to a new job. Losing one of their better hitters this season is going to hurt them. Match up with Strike Force is up next. They’ll need another hot streak to keep themselves ahead of One’s.
7. Strike Force (6-14) —
Losers of 7 out of 8. Their one win being a forfeit win. Their season is spiraling out of control. 3 games back of 5th place with only 6 games left. It going to be hard for them to catch up. Bengals are up next. They can’t afford anything less than a sweep. 2 wins and they’ll be back in striking distance for 5th. Anything less and they are essentially out of it.
8. NWO (5-15) —
At least they won a game recently. Hopefully they can build on the experience and continue to improve the final weeks.
6 games left. It’s it becoming more apparent where each team belongs. Looks as if Breaking Bats, Hit Squad and Dynasty will hold top 3. Who will end as 1st seed is still up for grabs. Purple Reign, Bengals and One’s will be fighting for SNL slot. NWO and Strike Force playing more for pride than anything else at this point.
