NL Manager of the Year
With the season more than half way done, we can tell who is competing and who’s not. Purple Reign started off red hot but have cooled down. Other teams like The Ones, have the roster but aren’t performing to their standards. Teams like Strike Force and nWo couldn’t get the fire started. Other teams have had hot stretches but the 3 top teams are the ones doing it consistently. They are:
Breaking Bats (Syed Haque)
This team has been on fire all year long, only dropping 5 games. They are an offensive juggernaut, lead offensively by Zimmad Imam batting a .727. They have 2 guys batting over .700 and 2 guys batting over .600. Syed did a great job putting this team together, they have very few weaknesses. Syed himself is not having the best season, batting a .444 but his team easily makes up for that. They lead the league in runs scored at 284, 68 more runs scored then 2nd place. Defensively they are 3rd in the league only behind the other top 2 teams. There’s a reason they only have 5 losses, they don’t give up, no matter how much their down by. Breaking Bats was competing against AL teams last year and almost won it all so it’s no surprise they are doing so well this season.
Hit Squad (Ali Najimi)
One of the most veteran teams in either league. They are always on top, every season, so consistent, you get sick of them. Once again, Ali put together a contending team but they didn’t start that way. It took a couple of signings during the season for them to go on this tear. Frank, a veteran Hit Squad is leading the way on offense, batting .708, he can literally do it all. Ali also introduced his son to the league, Yaqub Najimi who is a serious ballplayer batting .636. That’s next level recruiting. Offensively they have scored 177 runs, which is not great by any means, only in 5th place. Their forte is defense, second in the league, only allowing 143 runs. Hit Squad suffocates you on defense, shifting their defense according to who’s batting. With such veteran leadership, manned by Ali himself it doesn’t matter what situation they are in, they can always find a way to prevail.
Dynasty (Sajid Kakana)
Another veteran team that has been around since the beginning. Very similar to Hit Squad, always consistent, near the top. Dynasty did not have a good start to the season, they were in last place for a few weeks. Since mid-way through the season though, they have been a completely different team. They are actually the hottest team in the league right now, winning 8 out of their last 10. Led offensively by Yamin Patel, batting .686, doing it all for Dynasty. Defensively they are easily the best team in the league, only allowing 118 runs. Amit Bhasin locks down the defense for them, makes everyone else’s job easier. Offensively they are middle of the pack at 181, good for 4th place. If Dynasty can keep up this hot streak, they are in contention to win it all.
