- Tell us about yourself, what do you do for a living? Family? Life outside of sports? Where you from and where did you grow up?
My Name is Aldo, I’m a happy outgoing person who loves sports. I work in the Health Field as a Care Coordinator for a Primary Care Clinic in the Bronx. The only family I have now is my parents and two younger brothers. I’m from Ecuador and I grew up in Queens New York.
- How were you introduced to SASL?
I was introduced to SASL by Anwar. I played against him in the SAFL.
- Who brought you in? Any baseball/softball experience?
I was brought in by Ali who’s currently on my softball team. I have both baseball and softball experience. I played in other softball leagues in the past and played baseball when I was in my early 20s.
- After week 1 of softball, what’re your thoughts?
After week 1 of softball, my thoughts are that we will do well this year. The team seems very motivated and one that wants to win, good teamwork so far.
- How is being a part of the South Asian sports community impacted your life?
Being part of the South Asian Sports Community impacted me in a way that I can socialize with more people and have connections with other sports. The guys that play in this league are very nice people.
- Being that this is a South Asian league, what influence has South Asians have on your life growing up? Did you know many?
South Asians have influenced me growing up in many ways, I grew up with a lot of South Asian friends. Some are very close to me.
- What do you hope to see in the future with the South Asian community? How do you think this goal can be reached?
I hope to see in the future with the South Asian Sports Community is a bigger sports community with more sports options. I think this goal can be reached by allowing more NSA players in the league.
- You’ve seen how SAFL has transformed over the years, what advice do you have for SASL to be successful?
My advice to SASL to be successful is for the league to be played all year around. Both in the spring and fall.
- Favorite baseball player and why?
My favorite baseball player is Jorge Posada from the New York Yankees. Watching him growing up play always inspired me to be a catcher, when I played.
- Favorite football player and why?
My favorite Football player is Brett Favre the Green Bay Packers. Because he was exciting to watch and see win.
