SASL 2020 AWARDS WINNERS

2020 has been a season for the ages. We are proud to announce the winners of our 3 major awards  below. Congratulations to not only the winners, but also the nominees who all had FANTASTIC seasons.

SASL 2020 MVP: RAFAEL LIRIANO (The Ones): 50% of votes

—.725Avg/2.111OPS/9HR/44r/76rbis

Rafael Liriano had a dominant 2020 season from wire to wire. He was named ‘Player of the Week’ the most times out of any player in the League. He had a league record 76 RBIs in 22 games. That’s just astounding. Along with that he finished second in Average, and top 5 in the League in many categories like OPS, Home Runs, Runs, Total Bases, etc. More than stats is what he meant to The Ones. He played many different positions including LCF, SS and ultimately Pitcher; whatever the team needed. He showed up for every game and performed admirably in all of them. Congratulations Rafael on having a season for the ages.

Also receiving votes: Andy Sanchez (36% of votes), Charley Robinson (7% of votes) and Yamin Patel (7% of votes)

SASL 2020 ROY: ANDY SANCHEZ (Dothrakis): 86% of votes

—.773Avg/2.217Ops/11HR/40r/43rbis

Andy Sanchez came into the season with a lot of hype and he sure did not disappoint. A legit 5 tool player, he led the team in every offensive category and was on top of the League Leaderboard in AVG, OPS, Home Runs. His exceptional defense and arm cannot be overlooked either. He cut down many runners on the base paths with what surely is the best arm in the League. He was almost an unanimous Rookie of the Year winner and also finished second in the SASL MVP race. As the best player on the best team, we expect many years of greatness from Andy.

Also receiving votes: Narish Ramoutar (7% of votes), Vincent Florido (7% of votes)

SASL 2020 MOY: SUNNY NAVEED AND PAVY BADWAL (Dothrakis): 61% of votes

—Team finished 17-5 record and First in the Standings

In another run away vote, we had the Dothraki management win with 61% of the votes for the SASL Manager of the Year votes. They deservedly won after dominating the League in their rookie year. Captains Sunny and Pavy came into the season very prepared with their team practicing and honing their craft well before the season began. They recruited well and built a team that had no holes. Offense? Check. Defense? Check. Depth? Check. They have built the Dothrakis into a destination team. While the team has a lot of talent, they expertly handled all the egos and talent to guide their team to one cause: championship.

Also receiving votes: Naeem Bhalli and Amby Cruceta of The Ones (21% of votes), Charley Robinson and Irfan Musliwala of The North (11% of votes), and Sajid Kakana and Sonu Bhasin of Dynasty (7% of votes)
