NL Playoffs Preview: Scoobies Force (2) vs. Bengals (4)

Scoobies Force will be heavily favored, but Bengals have all the makings to pull off an upset.

BENGALS PLAYING WITH HOUSE MONEY?

Scoobies Force dominated from end to end this season. Bengals had a tale of two halves. This is an unexpected semifinals matchup. Both teams are confident as they approach Sunday but Bengals will be heavy underdogs against the machine-like efficiency of Scoobies Force. Are we going to see an upset or will Scoobies Force dominate their way to the Finals?

Regular Season:

Scoobies Force: They lost their opening game to Dynasty and then another midseason meeting with Dynasty. Other than that, they have not lost all season to finish with the best record in the division with a 22-2 record. How dominant were they? The have the best offensive team as well as the best defensive team. Their run differential is an astounding +201. Amazing. The next best team was Dynasty at +98. The key for Scoobies Force was not only elite talent, but depth and a lack of reliance on crossovers. This team is literally 15 deep. Captains Prince and Scooby has done an admiral job of keeping everyone focused and engaged throughout the season. They never struggled with attendance.

Bengals: After finishing last season with a horrendous SNL loss to The Ones, Bengals under new leader Manju came out on fire. They revamped their entire squad by adding Jason, Saeed, Pervez, Anwar, Manpreet, Sunny, etc. The roster turnover didn’t hurt their chemistry as they started their season with a 8-0 record. After their first loss to Hit Squad in a sweep, they went on a tailspin in the second half. They finished the season on a 4-10 nosedive with brutal losses to Bats, Scoobies Force, NOW and Dad Bods. Things looked dire but they went into playoffs as the 5th seed and hoped with better attendance they can beat some teams.

1st Round:

Scoobies Force: As the top seed, they faced off against SNL wild card winner Strike Force. The results were pretty predictable. Scoobies Force mercied both games. First game was 18-6 and second game was 13-1. Shaz led the way with 7 rbis. The matchup was one of David v Goliath, but without the underdog having any tricks up their sleeves.

Bengals: This was a three game thriller. Dynasty was expected to be one of the last teams standing with a very strong team. Bengals came thru with a clutch game 1 win with a score of 13-9. The game went to 8 innings. In game 2, Dynasty stormed back and blew Bengals out the water with a 15-7 shellacking. In game 3, Dynasty had an early lead, but Bengals kept clawing away and with some fielding miscues, and walks, they were able to hang onto a 10-7 upset win. Manju had a captains series getting on base 10 times in the series and 5 rbis.
